Sorry to hear Carl passed. I grew up next door to him and he was a very nice person.
I remember Carl and his sister Karen as my students at Morgan Park High School. I'm sorry for your loss. He was too young.
I am very sad to hear of Carl's unexpected passing. I went to high school with him; he was one of the nicest, kindest guys ever! There was always a smile on his face.
My deepest sympathy to Carl's family and friends. Went to school with Carl through Riverside Elementary, Morgan Park and UMD.
My condolences to the family. I knew Carl in high school, played sports with him, and on occasion would run into him around the Sandstone area. Certainly a quality human being who brought honor to the law enforcement profession. A real salt of the earth kind of guy, someone I was privileged to know.
To the Steffen family. We are deeply saddened by the news of your loss. Our most sincere condolences. (high school class of '72)
My deepest sympathy to the entire Steffen Family. I grew up in Smithville with Carl and Karen and have so many great memories of playing in the backyard with the swing that went over the creek. Carl Steffen is a great man, who was always kind, respectful, and of pure heart. Gone way too soon but I shall say a prayer when I pass Sandstone for his family. Sincerely, Monica Rubin
Carl was one of Sandstone's best assets and I was thrilled when he was elected Mayor! His responsiveness, positive attitude and good humor were so very appreciated. I've moved away but am so sad for the community nonetheless.
Grew up with Carl and Karen. He was a great guy.
My sincere condolences to Carl's family. In high school he was always a lot of fun to be around with his huge smile and lots of laughter.
I can't remember seeing Carl without that million dollar smile. He was a class act. My condolences to the Steffen family.
I enjoyed working with you,Carl. I'll see you later.
So sorry to hear of Carl's passing. He was such a great guy with an instant smile and a hearty laugh. When he was working as a trooper, I was teasing him about not giving me a ticket if he caught me speeding! I was a classmate of Carl's at Morgan Park High School - "We are so great; there are so few...as good as the ones from '72!!!" Carl was one of the best. Rest in peace...you are in our thoughts and prayers...Kathy (Pulczinski) and Rick Nelson
