UMD update: The Bulldogs enter today's game unbeaten in their last seven (6-0-1) after sweeping North Dakota over the weekend at home, 5-3 and 5-2. UMD has been an offensive juggernaut during the streak, which dates to a 6-2 win at Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 9. UMD is averaging 4.86 goals per game thanks in part to being 51.9 percent on power plays (14-for-27) over the last seven games. UMD was 6-for-11 on power plays in the sweep of the Fighting Hawks and a seventh goal came just seconds after an advantage expired. Freshman defenseman Scott Perunovich, sophomore wing Riley Tufte and junior wing Parker Mackay each had two goals and two assists in the series while sophomore wing Joey Anderson had a goal and five assists. Freshman wing Nick Swaney returned to UMD's lineup Saturday after missing three games with an injury. He tallied an assist in his return.

Minnesota State-Mankato update: The WCHA-leading Mavericks enter today's game off a 5-2 Hockey Day Minnesota win at St. Cloud State on Saturday — their lone game last week after spending back-to-back weekends in Alaska. The Mavericks, who sport the fourth-best winning percentage in the nation, are 9-2 since losing 3-1 to the Bulldogs on Nov. 25. UMD sophomore goaltender Hunter Shepard made 33 saves that night. Sophomore defenseman Ian Scheid had the Mavericks' lone goal while Swaney, junior center Peter Krieger and Tufte scored for UMD. Senior Connor LaCouvee, who is 12-3 this season in goal, made 22 saves for Mankato. Senior forward C.J. Suess already has 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) through 25 games and senior forward Zeb Knutson is not far behind (10-18—28). The Mavs are 3-2 in nonconference play, including a 1-2 record against NCHC teams.

Quote: "We got some confidence right now. That's a huge part of the game, momentum. We're trying to ride this as long as possible." — UMD senior captain Karson Kuhlman on seven-game unbeaten streak
