Suspect connected to Superior homicide faces trial
A Duluth man faces trial later this month in connection with a fatal 2017 New Year’s Day shooting outside a Superior bar.
Jamar Maurice Smith, 26, is facing a felony charge of possession of a firearm by an outstate felon and misdemeanor bail jumping. His trial remained on the calendar after a hearing Monday in Douglas County Circuit Court.
Kyle Androsky, 21, was killed the morning of Jan. 1, 2017, in an alley behind Third Base Bar. His brother, David Androsky Jr., suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
In addition, Smith faces felony battery by prisoner for a July 23 incident in the Douglas County Jail and misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer, violating a foreign protection order and bail jumping in relation to incidents that took place in Superior in 2015 and 2016.
