Two shootings reported in Duluth
The Duluth Police Department responded to a report of a person with a gun at Morgan Park Townhomes on Tuesday night and stopped a vehicle leaving the scene that contained people who are possibly connected to two separate shootings in Duluth. A weapon was found in the vehicle on Tuesday.
The shootings occurred about five minutes apart overnight on Saturday, police said. One was reported at 112 W. Fourth St. and a second was reported when a woman arrived at the Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center emergency room with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her shoulder, according to police. Police are in the preliminary stage of determining whether the two shootings and Tuesday’s incident are connected. No further information was released Tuesday night.
This is the second shooting to occur at 112 W. Fourth St. in recent months. On Sept. 7, authorities responded to a report of a shooting at that address and found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. A preliminary investigation indicated that the man had accidentally shot himself, police said at the time.
