Former Denfeld student’s stolen art recovered
A former Denfeld High School student’s artwork that disappeared from a student display at the Miller Hill Mall last year has been recovered.
Art teacher John Hoban wrote on Facebook that Bayley Anderson’s piece was “randomly found while cleaning out an abandoned storage unit in Superior.” It was found behind some mattresses by someone who knew Anderson and recognized the piece — a pencil and acrylic painting. The person turned it into the police, who brought it to Denfeld on Tuesday, according to Hoban.
Anderson was a junior at Denfeld when it was stolen from the display in March 2017. She spent six months working on it and was planning to use it as the main feature in her portfolio to apply to art school when it was stolen.
