Planetarium hosting Astronomy Day event
The Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus will host its annual International Astronomy Day event on Saturday.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it’s free and open to the public.
Scheduled activities include constellation shows, universe tours, virtual reality demonstrations and full-dome planetarium movies.
“This is an ideal activity for families and a great way to spark curiosity about science and learning more about our world,” said planetarium director Marc Seigar.
The planetarium is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Find more information online at scse.d.umn.edu/marshall-w-alworth-planetarium.
