Several streets in downtown Duluth and Canal Park will be closed on Saturday morning for the annual Fitger's 5K run.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday:

Superior Street will be closed to traffic between Lake Avenue and Eighth Avenue East; alternate routes include First and Second streets.

The Lake Avenue viaduct will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction.

The off-ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to Lake Avenue and the on-ramp from Lake Avenue to northbound I-35 will be closed.

Railroad Street will be closed except for local access from the west to Pier B Resort and other businesses; no traffic will be allowed on Railroad Street near the DECC and Canal Park.

The only access to the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will be via Fifth Avenue West / Harbor Drive.

The only access to Canal Park and Park Point will be via Lake Avenue; Canal Park Drive will be closed briefly during the race, affecting some hotel parking lots.

The traffic closures and detours will last for about two hours. Drivers also should watch out for pedestrians and runners in the area, and obey temporary no-parking signs along the race route, which begins and ends at the Fitger's Brewery Complex.
