Police discover suspected meth lab in Chisholm
Two people are in custody after the discovery of what police described as a "clandestine laboratory" in a camper trailer in Chisholm Wednesday.
While responding to a suspicious activity call at around 5:20 a.m., officers discovered the lab on the 500 block of Fourth Street Northwest, the Chisholm Police Department reported. Authorities executed a search warrant and found what they believe to be a lab used to manufacture methamphetamine, pending further analysis.
A 45-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, both of Chisholm, were taken into custody and await formal charges, police said. The News Tribune generally does not name suspects until they are formally charged with a crime.
Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, Chisholm Fire Department, Duluth Fire Department, Hibbing EMS and St. Louis County Risk Management assisted at the scene.
