Project Blue Light
The St. Louis County Law Enforcement Chaplains Association on Thursday are encouraging local residents to incorporate blue lights into their holiday decorations this winter “as a call for peace and a show of support for law enforcement.”
It’s part of “Project Blue Light,” a national effort that dates back to 1989.
“The color blue has long been associated with law enforcement, but the color is also a symbol of peace,” Father John Petrich, a chaplain with the county association, said in a news release. “It seems there has never been a better time to show our support for law enforcement and our desire for peace in our lives and community.”
The association suggests using a string of blue lights, or replacing a regular bulb with a blue one in a light fixture.
