It’s Duluth Superior Pride weekend, which means mayoral proclamations, art, poetry and film, a progressive block party, a fun-run and a parade down Tower Ave. in Superior.

The 28th annual celebration has come a long way: From an underground affair off the beaten path to an event that last year included a special wedding tent for couples who wanted to finally make it official.

One of the main draws: Pride Festival in the Park is an all-day event with exhibitors — including a Pride Historical Collection curated by Dan Hartman and Margie Nelson — food and bevs, games and family-friendly activities. Entertainment includes: Steve Grand, Branden James, Cheesa and Ariana & The Rose, Meliante, Minnesota Ballet, Flame Dancers and Rachael Kilgour.

Afterward, hit up the block party between the Flame Nightclub, 1612 Tower Ave., Superior and The Main Club, 1217 Tower Ave., Superior. But take it easy: You’ll want to be well-rested for the Pride parade at noon on Tower Ave.
