Actors wanted for movie that will film in Duluth and on Iron Range

Filmmakers behind a movie that has been billed as a cross between “La Femme Nikita,” “Predator” and “The A-Team” are looking for three adult men, preferably with acting experience.

And they need them quickly.

The casting call is for “Sdanka’s War,” which, after weather and permit delays, is scheduled to begin filming in four to six weeks on the Iron Range and in Duluth, according to a news release from Rylinn Entertainment.

Wanted: men between the ages of 21-50 who can pull off a convincing Eastern European accent. Actors should be comfortable in front of a camera. Those interested should contact writer-director Tino Struckmann at

According to a blurb by Struckmann on, the movie is inspired by the real events of human trafficking. At the center is the beautiful Sdanka, whose family ends up victimized by the smugglers. Months later, a skilled sniper enters the scene and a bunch of hard partying ex-Army Rangers are sent in to deal with the threat.

The movie is by Los Angeles-based Almighty Dog Entertainment, in conjunction with LZ Productions out of Aitken and Rylinn Entertainment of Duluth.

A casting call was held on the Iron Range in August 2013. Filming originally was scheduled to begin in September 2013.
