Best Bets: Rhubarb Festival features mix of entertainment

Tis the season to celebrate a bountiful and tangy bit of deliciousness in the form of a perennial. CHUM’s Rhubarb Festival starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and includes a mix of entertainment, contests and a rhubarb blessing in addition to rhubarb in its many food forms.

This year’s headlining act is Larry Long, whose American Roots Revue, which goes to the musical root of the Anishinabe Ojibwe Nation and a considers the work of late greats like Woody Guthrie, Billie Holiday and more.

Also performing: Terrance Smith, a folk singer and dancer, Claudia Schmidt, a regional artist who was a regular on “A Prairie Home Companion,” indie rock band Vivielle and members of the Duluth Playhouse’s “Les Miserables” cast.
