Reader's view: Loud motorcyclists rev up thoughts of revenge

I will be sitting in my living room and all of a sudden there will be this horrific noise. Or I will be asleep at

2 a.m. or 3 a.m. and rise up from my bed as though a shotgun went off by my ear, while the cat is midair and on its way to the closet. I am not sure why motorcycle riders rev their engines at stop lights or go full throttle down our downtown streets. What I do know is it is loud, it echoes off buildings and it is amplified to the nth degree.

Whatever the reasons, I ask bikers to please remember there are people living downtown. It happens all day long and late into the night. I want to start screaming out my window like some wild banshee! I dream of standing on the street corner, and when a motorcyclist comes to a stop, running out and tipping him or her over.

I try to live life believing we are all one; I am now plotting revenge. Please, I am asking nicely now. But tomorrow I may be on the street. Please keep the revving and the full throttle for the open road. In the city, it’s enough to make a good girl turn bad.

I want to give a shout out for all riders who have very loud bikes but who are respectful and quietly take off from traffic lights and do not rev their engines or ride full throttle down the street. I thank them for their restraint and respect of others. They are the true riders of the road.
