Fuel to play Clyde Iron

An alt-rock band that hit the scene in the mid-1990s with the single “Shimmer” will make a stop in Duluth as part of a tour in support of its new album.

Fuel, with opener Royal Bliss, plays July 9 at Clyde Iron Works. Tickets are $18 in advance and go on sale Friday at Clyde, Electric Fetus, Beaner’s Central and

Fuel released “Puppet Strings,” its first album in a decade with front man Brett Scallions, earlier this year and has billed it as “anthem rock” with a punk influence.

Scallions had been touring with members of the Doors.

The rock band Royal Bliss’ most recent album is “Chasing the Sun,” which peaked at No. 5 on the iTunes rock charts.
