Grandma’s Marathon will host live entertainment in Canal Park on Friday and Saturday — though this year’s headliners are newbies at the tents.

Love and Theft plays Friday night with special guest Ashley Monroe; Aer plays Saturday with Pop Rocks and Rhino opening. Gates open at 7 p.m. both nights.

Love and Theft is a duo that has charted on Billboard Hot Country Songs. “Angel Eyes” was the band’s first No. 1 hit. It’s scheduled to release an album later this year, but “Night That You’ll Never Forget” is already getting radio play. Ashley Monroe has provided background vocals on a Wanda Jackson album produced by Jack White, and she performs the duet “Bruises” on Train’s album “California 37.”

Aer combines rap, reggae, pop and indie rock and has been featured on MTV’s “The Real World.” The duo’s 2012 album, “The Bright Side,” hit No. 1 on iTunes album charts and landed in Billboard’s Top 200. Aer released a self-titled album earlier this year.
