A&E Notes: Minnesota Ballet announces season
The Minnesota Ballet’s 2014-15 season will include work by one of ballet’s most famous choreographers, a traditional tale and a fairy tale about the sleepiest of princesses.
The company’s fall performance “Broadway to Ballet” is Oct. 17-18 and features George Balanchine’s “Who Cares?” set to a medley of Gershwin tunes and also includes a production of Salvatore Aiello’s “Clowns and Others.”
“The Nutcracker,” set in Edwardian New York City, returns Dec. 12-14.
The ballet’s “Dancing with the Stars”-style fundraiser “The Celebrity Dance Challenge” pairs pros and civilians. It’s scheduled for Feb. 5 at Fregeau Auditorium at Marshall School.
The season ends with a production of “Sleeping Beauty” March 27-28.
All performances, except the “Celebrity Dance Challenge,” are at Symphony Hall.
