I am glad the city finally is fixing streets in Central Hillside that were long overdue to be fixed. I just wish so many hadn’t been torn up all at once. One could have been finished before work on others began.

I have known 4th District School Board candidate Dave Bolgrien and his wife, Kelly, for more than 12 years now. We were PTA parents together, volunteering at the school in many different activities and functions. Bolgrien always was concerned with the welfare and education of all our children.
I could not believe the St. Louis County Board of Commissioners did not approve the so-called wheelage tax as it was authorized to do by the 2013 legislative session (“St. Louis County Board passes up vehicle tax; $10 fee would have gone to road projects,” July 31).
Duluth cannot and should not pass up the monumental opportunity that is before the city. The city of Duluth should purchase the NorShor Theatre and make it a venue for all to enjoy for generations to come.
