Dave Thompson can use some of the most unlikely objects — a discarded mirror, an empty Mountain Dew bottle, an odd-shaped piece of PVC tubing — in his work. He's a zookeeper at the Lake Superior Zoo, charged with keeping animals happy and entertained.
The Lake Superior Zoo in 2030 will have an area where children will be able to mimic the activities of wild animals, and more-spacious areas for lions and tigers and (grizzly) bears. What it won’t have is polar bears.
The Lake Superior Zoo unveiled a master plan today that includes, by 2030, an area where children will be able to mimic the activities of wild animals; trout swimming the waters of Kingsbury Creek; a peninsula where penguins will play; and more natural and more spacious areas for lions and tigers and grizzly bears.
