Iron ore pellet shipments via the Great Lakes are down two-thirds compared with last year, according to a report issued Monday by the Lake Carriers Association, a trade organization that represents the operators of U.S.-flagged vessels serving the world’s largest freshwater chain.
The companies announced today that the boards of directors of both companies have approved a settlement of litigation brought by Alpha in Delaware Chancery Court and the termination of the merger agreement.
Shipments of iron ore pellets on the Great Lakes slipped slightly in October, according to a report issued Wednesday by the Lake Carriers’ Association. Nearly 5.7 million tons of iron ore were shipped during the month — about
68,000 tons or 1.2 percent less than was moved during the same month last year.
