WASHINGTON — Bridge design errors that went unnoticed for decades and a failure to limit heavy construction on the span led to the Minnesota highway bridge collapse that killed 13 people last year, federal investigators said Thursday.
MINNEAPOLIS — Rep. Jim Oberstar on Sunday criticized the National Transportation Safety Board after a published report said investigators for the agency have determined an original design flaw is the likeliest reason for the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis.
