Wisconsin murder suspect's body identified

Arthur A. Garcia, 31, of Stone Lake was found in the ruins of a mobile home fire Nov. 1 in Washburn County near Spooner. Garcia apparently shot himself and then was incinerated on a pile of burning tires, according to the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department.

Our view: Duluth in the ambulance business? Why are we even talking about this, if not for politics? The debate has all the markings of a political bombshell, one of those stories lobbed a few days before an election to knock the wheels off a rival campaign. Just before the Nov. 3 vote, tired questions were resurrected: Should the Duluth Fire Department take over ambulatory services now being provided by the private, nonprofit Gold Cross Ambulance? And: Couldn’t firefighters do a better job?
