How interesting to read in the News Tribune on Saturday that state Sen. Tom Rukavina, DFL-Pike Township, is committed to bringing “everyone together (to) reach some sort of compromise … that will work for the mines” with regard to sulfate levels. I would suggest a far more crucial goal for Minnesota would be to protect wild rice while allowing existing and proposed mines to operate in compliance with existing state and federal water quality standards.
Terance Terrell Neal, 22, a former Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College football player, has been charged in Carlton County District Court with one count each of controlled substance crime in the fifth degree, fleeing on foot and obstructing legal process.
