The Duluth City Council is expected to give first reading tonight of an ordinance authorizing the sale of $2 million in general obligation bonds to support construction of an Arena-Auditorium annex and an enclosed ramp connecting it with the downtown.
Every year, FIRST Robotics teams receive a new game and build a new robot to play it. This year’s game, Ariel Assist, involves passing and shooting a 2-foot-diameter exercise ball. Teams had six weeks to design and construct their robots.
The last time the Band Perry played Duluth, back in 2011, they were playing second fiddle on the bill to Blake Shelton. Well, those days are over, boys and girls, because the siblings and their country band were back as headliners Saturday night at the DECC Arena and left no doubt that is exactly what they are for the foreseeable future.
A federally ordered 55 mph speed limit will probably take effect in Minnesota this weekend. The lowered speed limit was mandated by a federal energy-saving law that requires all states to comply by March 3 or lose federal highway money.
