St. Louis County commissioners on Tuesday approved sweeping new rules for septic systems across the county aimed at protecting water quality while making it easier for rural homeowners to meet state regulations.
As Patrick Boyle took the oath of office, becoming St. Louis County’s newest commissioner Tuesday afternoon, the city began its search for someone to take his place representing Duluth’s 2nd District on the City Council.
On Tuesday, voters across eastern Duluth neighborhoods elected City Councilor Patrick Boyle to the County Board by a 65 to 35 percent margin over longtime City Councilor Jim Stauber, 2,783 votes to 1,465.
