CLAM LAKE, Wis. — Not much is known about the small population of the spruce grouse living in Wisconsin. So the state Department of Natural Resources is monitoring them.
So far, they have put radio collars on 15 in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest near Clam Lake. They hope to find five to 10 more this fall.
In Duluth, the average temperature for 2007 was 1.7 degrees above the historical average, according to a report released Thursday by the statewide citizen-based environmental advocacy organization Environment Minnesota.
