Council vote Monday will decide fate of the zoo
On Monday, the Duluth City Council is scheduled to vote on transferring management of the city-owned zoo to the Lake Superior Zoological Society. If the council votes against it, there's a good chance the zoo will close.

Changing times at the Lake Superior Zoo
The zoo has changed a lot in the years since a West Duluth businessman got permission to construct a pen for his pet deer. And there's no doubt the zoo has struggled for a few years. Its short-term future depends on the city council vote Monday, but long-term success is really up to area residents.
