Junior pitcher Megan Mullen tossed 19 shutout innings to lead Hermantown to its first state championship game since 2002, while Silver Bay’s run at a first state title came to an end today at the Minnesota high school softball state tournament at Caswell Park in North Mankato, Minn.
Alex Kolquist has his sights set on Hermantown winning a team title at next month’s Minnesota Class AA high school boys golf state meet, but the senior has another goal in mind as well: beating his father head-to-head.
As it turns out, a broken collarbone would have been a lucky break for Grant Huttel. Instead, the Hermantown senior may miss the rest of the high school boys hockey season because his collarbone separated instead of fracturing.
