Nebraska-Kearney will be up next for UMD football
Sophomore running back Rustin Dring had 144 of his 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the second half as Nebraska-Kearney scored 28 unanswered points to beat Saginaw Valley 35-20 in the first round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs on Saturday before 3,500 spectators at Foster Field in Kearney, Neb.

Football: Top-seeded Bulldogs await first-round winner
UMD kept winning while other teams stumbled, giving the Bulldogs (10-1) one of four No. 1 seeds when the 24-team NCAA Division II championship field was announced Sunday. With a first-round bye, UMD will be off today, but that won’t keep the defending national champions from closely watching the two games within Super Regional Three.

UMD's Odim, Aurich named NSIC football players of the year
Several Bulldogs were selected to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team, and Duluth Denfeld graduate Bryan Wick of Bemidji State was named to the All-NSIC Defensive team.
