Theater review: ‘Spamalot’ is the Holy Grail of Python productions
I was excited to have the opportunity to see the touring company production of “Spamlot” at the DECC on Tuesday night, because I still have vivid memories of being one of five people (three people) crammed into the front seats of a small car in the front row of a drive-in theatre to see “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” and getting hysterical at the opening sub-titles in faux-Swedish musing on the “majestik moose.”

Review: Peking Acrobats bring well-balanced finale to 2011 for DSSO
I went home after the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra concert Saturday night remembering a couple of things my stomach muscles would do 48 years ago. Also some things they never would do. Watching two dozen very masterful young Chinese bodies certainly made for a good night’s sleep. The music was rather entertaining as well.By Samuel Black , January 02, 2012

If you go: The Nutcracker
December 10, 2011
Review: A bat must be crazy to try and upstage ‘The Nutcracker’
Opening night of the Minnesota Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” is the most magical night of the year when it comes to performing arts in the Twin Ports. Last night I watched a wide-eyed little girl named Liina, already dressed in a lovely holiday gown, be decked out in a royal sash and tiara as a Nutcracker princess.
