First it was steam engines. Then Sunday runs. Bit by bit, the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce are trying to increase the number of passengers on the summer excursion train that runs from Duluth to Two Harbors and back.
The bridge, known for its narrow space between abutments and various graffiti over the years, will be replaced this spring. It means a detour on 61 will be in place at least through December and again when bridge and road construction begins in the spring.
When the Minnesota Department of Revenue made public the list of Minnesota businesses that sell alcohol that are delinquent on its taxes, one of the businesses on the list was the North Shore Scenic Railroad housed at the Duluth Depot.
