After hearing about the post office being short of money and needing to cut service and raise the cost of stamps, I thought, “No kidding; the way the mail service has gotten so bad lately, people just aren't mailing things.”
While it’s pleasing that Virgil Swing, in his column here last week, moved closer to endorsing instant runoff voting, his reticence will hopefully be quickly resolved. IRV is an election improvement whose time has come.
Larry Burkett wrote a book in the 1990s titled, “The coming economic earthquake.” He made many economic predictions that are now coming true in 2008. I believe more of his predictions will come true in the next 12 to 18 months.
