Blais named All-American

Minnesota Duluth’s Emmanuelle Blais was named a Division I first-team All-American in women’s hockey on Friday. She’s UMD’s first All-American forward since Caroline Ouellette in 2005, and the seventh player in program history to earn the award (Jenny Potter, Maria Rooth and Ouellette were multiple winners).

UMD shut out by North Dakota

UMD shut out by North Dakota UMD will be monitoring its fading NCAA tournament chances. After the loss, the Bulldogs dropped three spots to No. 14 in the PairWise Rankings. Sixteen teams will be chosen Sunday morning and UMD will need help in other conference tournament playoffs to earn a spot.

ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Duluth goalie Kenny Reiter did all he could tonight, yet North Dakota broke through with two goals in the final eight minutes to defeat the Bulldogs 2-0 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association play-in game before 15,292 fans at Xcel Energy Center.
