Downtown businesses had dry enough weather Tuesday to sweep up the sidewalks in front of their storefronts, but the Greater Downtown Council says it will have to postpone today’s phase 2 project, the Lake Place Park cleanup.
The Greater Downtown Council is sponsoring a downtown farmers market every Tuesday at Lake Superior Plaza, at the corner of Superior Street and Lake Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today through Sept. 25.
It’s hip, fashionable and geared to women 25 to 45. And it’s coming to downtown Duluth. A winner in the Greater Downtown Council storefront contest plans to open the state’s first Apricot Lane Boutique this spring.
David Jaffe, president and CEO of Ascena Retail Group Inc., and George Goldfarb, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Maurices, spoke to about 60 Greater Downtown Council members during a breakfast at Maurices corporate headquarters in downtown Duluth on Tuesday.
