Field reports: Tallies rise in wolf seasons
As of midday Friday, 69 wolves had been taken in Minnesota’s late-season hunting and trapping season. A total of 29 had been taken in the Northeast Wolf Zone, where the target harvest is 56. In the Northwest Wolf Zone, 36 wolves had been taken. The quota is 187. A total of four wolves have been taken in the East-Central Wolf Zone, where the quota is 10.

As a young, college-educated, Native man, I must agree with Judge Barbara Crabb’s ruling against shining deer at night by tribes in Wisconsin. A St. Scholastica education student, I am receiving a well-rounded education and cultural perspective. I agree with those who question whether there’s tradition behind shining deer.
