Reader’s view: Wolves reduce deer, moose populations
Some with the Department of Natural Resources seem to believe, as one said in a recent article, that wolves have no effect on deer herds. If Minnesota has only the 3,000 wolves the DNR claims, those wolves would kill for food 90,000 to 120,000 deer per year. I read in a hunting magazine that an individual wolf needs 30 to 40 deer to eat per year.
