    I would just like to inform Tom Boman, the writer of the Feb. 3 Local View column, “Assault rifles don’t belong in society,” that the M-16 I used while in the Marine Corps (1998 through 2003) was a highly accurate, semi-automatic (one trigger pull equaled one fired bullet) with a selector-switch option to fire in burst mode (one trigger pull equaled three fired bullets, but we never used it).
