When I was a teenager, I used to help my dad deliver radiators for his repair business. I drove his Ford pickup with “Aarco Radiator Repair” painted on the door. Mechanics came to rely on me, a petite girl, to haul radiators to their shops on time. I saw these new friends prosper but also, at times, sputter. Tragically, some folded overnight. It was an early lesson on just how hard it is to make more money than it costs to live.
