Salem Covenant Church hosts anti-hunger event
Salem Covenant Church in Spirit Valley was scheduled to host a Kids Against Hunger food packaging center on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 339 N. 59th Ave. W. To host the event, Salem Covenant Church needed at least 300 volunteers to pack meals and needed to raise $10,000, which funded the packing of 40,000 meals. Money and manpower were secured from community businesses, organizations and individuals. All of the money received went toward the meal ingredients and packing materials.
