A group called Dog Lovers 4 Safe Trapping MN was formed in May 2012 to lobby for changes in trapping regulations to protect dogs from being injured. New, more restrictive, regulations for body-gripping traps went into effect last fall, but group members say those regulations don’t go far enough.

Kamloops returns were up last year
Returns of adult Kamloops rainbow trout to the French River hit 1,241 last spring, Department of Natural Resources officials said. That’s the highest return since 2005, when 1,942 were counted at the DNR’s French River trap.
