Reader’s view: Nolan appears to be living in the past
During a recent debate in Cambridge, Minn., Rick Nolan again seemed to not have a clue regarding the financial crisis we face with a debt of $16 trillion and adding another $1.1 trillion this year. When that disaster confronts us, our debate over how to save Social Security and Medicare will only be a footnote in history.

Reader’s view: Cravaack realizes dangers of fiscal cliff
I must give credit to U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack for his steadfast work to make all of us aware of the pending financial disaster on the horizon for our country. His Democratic challenger, Rick Nolan, has brushed aside such conversation and campaigns for more spending, seemingly without a clue of the enormity of the problem. Nolan continues to promote the same old program that got us into this mess. We have kicked the can down the road far too many times; we just cannot do it again.
