Readers’ view: Fosle has proven his advocacy for all Duluthians
I endorse Jay Fosle for the state House District 7B seat and encourage voters to write in his name on the ballot. Fosle represents almost half of the 7B District as a city councilor. I represent most of the other half of the district. I believe Fosle is the best candidate to represent the voters of 7B.

Readers’ view: Romney endorsement was short on details, evidence
I just read the endorsement in the News Tribune of Mitt Romney. It read like a Romney campaign talking-point handout. The major problem: Romney’s talking points amount to one big “trust me.” The editorial promoted Romney’s ultra-vague plan to “bolster the middle class and reinvigorate the U.S. economy.” It said his plan “encouragingly includes tax reductions, less government spending and the elimination of unnecessary regulations that hamper job creation.” But like the candidate himself does, it glossed over details with meaningless political jargon like “realizing the best solutions come from the local level.”

International Falls man challenges Minnesota Supreme Court incumbent
Lorie S. Gildea campaigns on her record of Minnesota chief justice, telling voters she helped get more court funding and that she makes decisions based on the law, not her feelings. Challenger Dan Griffith of International Falls does not criticize Gildea, but blasts how she got into office: by governor appointment instead of a public vote.
