I believe the current casino in downtown Duluth represents what is wrong with our city. Greed and poor planning with regard to its location has led to crime and people of little income and life skills spending their resources foolishly, creating heartache and a need for many handouts from local charities.

In a move Mayor Don Ness called devastating for the city of Duluth and taxpayers, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court’s decision requiring the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa to pay the city an estimated $12.4 million in casino revenue back payments.
