Local view: SBA ready to help flood victims
Homeowners affected by the Northland flash flood in June now have tangible options to get started on their rebuilding efforts. The decision by the U.S. Small Business Administration to offer low-interest disaster recovery loans in Douglas County and in all seven counties that surround it — including Bayfield, Burnett, Sawyer and Washburn counties in Wisconsin and Carlton (including the Fond du Lac Reservation), Pine and St. Louis counties in Minnesota — means that one of the biggest tools we’ve been waiting for is now available for homeowners, businesses and nonprofits affected by the flood.
