  • This is a photo of two of my Aermacchi Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The one on the right is a 1967 Sprint SS 250 that I restored and the one on the left is a 1970 SS 350 Aermacchi Harley-Davidson that is in the process of being restored. I also own two other Aermacchi bikes patiently waiting their restoration a 1962 Sprint 250 H and a 1973 SS 350. Many people are surprised that Harley-Davidson motorcycles werent always American built bikes. During the 60s and 70s Harley-Davidson purchased 51% o Aermacchi, an Italian motorcycle manufacturing company. Harley needed a small cc motorcycle to go up against the huge influx of Japanese bikes that were hitting the American shores at that time. Not only and I proud owner of my Aermacchis but I have also owned several American built Harleys over the years and currently own a 2010 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. Submitted by Bob Lent, Director Duluth Chapter of Harley Owners Group.
  • I always wanted to learn how to ride, well at least since “Sons of Anarchy” has been on TV, according to my husband. As my 30th birthday was approaching, I thought now or never. I signed up for motorcycle training and become a state endorsed rider. After several visits with Dan, I went all in and bought my “beginner” bike – a brand new Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster. I figured I would have hundreds of miles in by the end of the summer. A few weeks and 83 miles in, I realized I was riding for two. I was pregnant! Nothing disrupts your riding plans, especially when you are not that good at it, quite like knowing you are soon to be a mother. So my Harley was winterized in mid-September and remains in Harley hibernation. I am hoping to get those practice miles in, just as a motorcycle mamma now. Submitted by Jeannine Morgan of Duluth.
