This is a picture of my grandkitty, Tigerlily, who lives in New Mexico. She is peeking out from her favorite hiding place under the rug. As we always say, “She looks like an angel and acts like one, too, but you never can tell what an angel will do!

 • This photo is of Abby, a diabetic kitty who owns Mike and Jackie Kohn of Duluth.
 • The Kohns also sent this photo of their nephew, Noah Rivera, 3½, holding his kitty Taz. Taz was in an automobile accident and hurt his mouth. Many stitches later, all is well.
 • We got our cat Kee from a relative who could no longer keep her years ago. She is the second of two cats we owned. She has turned out to be the best cat ever.

She knows what she wants and holds her own with our two dogs. She even will lay right next to our two dogs and lets us know her wants and needs. She is set in her own way.

We learned that with type of cat you have to brush every day so they don’t get hairballs. She got a bad hairball recently from not being brushed. She was very sick. We lived through that difficult week until she finally spit it up.

Submitted by Peggy and Jim Anderson of Duluth.
 • Brittni Driver of Britt took this photo just a couple weeks ago in Malawi, Africa. Driver is there volunteering with the Peace Corps. She writes, “The neighbor’s cat wandered into my yard and decided to take a nap in my lap! It was just completely chillin’!”

Submitted by Driver’s mother, Marilee Wasbotten of Britt.
 • I have to admit, I am often referred to as the “Crazy Cat Lady.” It all started with Lucy, my first cat when I was in college. Within the next few years, my best friends (and college roommates) all started having children. We joked that I would get a new cat for every new baby.

Put it this way: I am up to three cats now: Lucy, Mary Jane and Panda. While they are on their second round of babies, I am quite content with my three cats. We even sent out a Christmas card this year with their pictures titled “Meowy Christmas.”

Pictured is Panda, sleeping under the covers.

Submitted by Ashley Balaich of Duluth.
 • I have had Patches and Slippers since March 2001. They came from the Cloquet Vet Hospital after being found in a box in the parking lot at Potlatch, now Sappi. They were then brought to the Cloquet Animal Hospital and after no one claimed them my son and daughter-in-law brought them to me.

They are the nicest cats ever. Patches is also there to greet me when I come home and Slippers likes to lay on my stomach when I’m saying my prayers. They are indoor cats and don’t want anything to do with being outside. They love to lay wherever the sun is shining. They are a lot of company for me.

Submitted by Mari Anne Isakson of Duluth.
