  • Brian Matuszak of Duluth submitted this photo.<br /><br />His daughter, Kaylee Matuszak, with Al Franken when he was signing copies of his book “Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them” at Fitger’s a few years back (before becoming our senator). Brian’s wife, Sue, stood in line with Kaylee for several hours to have Franken autograph the book, which was a Christmas present for Brian.

  • We were traveling through the South on the way to Phoenix. Graceland was closed for the winter, but Vernon Presley came out to the gates to talk to us and I was able to take this picture. He was very nice and he told us where we could go to get some Elvis memorabilia.<br /><br />Submitted by Patricia Udovich of Duluth. Pictured are Kristina Belanger, 13, and Jerry Belanger, 11, with Vernon Presley, Elvis’ uncle. The photo was taken in December 1977 at Graceland, which was closed for the winter.

  • Chuck Androsky Jr. of Superior snapped a picture of Robbie Knievel checking out his billboard as they were coming off the Blatnik Bridge. Knievel was on his way to an interview with Michelle Lee at KBJR. Robbie made a record-breaking jump at LCO Casino in 2008.
  • I met and had this picture taken with one of the actors from the original “Hawaii 5-0” television series. I have forgotten his name now, but he also appeared on other television programs and was an entertainer (singer) in Hawaii.<br /><br />Submitted by Jan Montgomery of Duluth.
