Milo S. Tasky, 88 of Duluth passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006. On Dec. 15, 1941, he began his career with the Duluth Police Department and served as the department's Chief of Police from 1967 to 1982. Milo was a 1962 graduate of the FBI National Academy in Washington, DC. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as an artillery officer with the Third Armored Division in Europe and earned the Bronze Star for Valor. During the Korean Conflict, Milo was with the Third Infantry Division in Korea and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He was a former member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Milo is survived by his wife, Helenora; children, Linda, Janet and Glenn; and sisters, Olga Stanley, Marjorie (Roland) Rooney, Ursula Despot and Marion (Lewis) Ellefsen. MEMORIAL SERVICE:1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Service entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.
