John “Jack” F. Frestedt, 62, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 18, 1951 in Duluth to William G. and Donna Frestedt.
Jack was a 1969 graduate of East High School.
On Sept. 11, 1976 Jack married Jean Lindblom. He worked for Duluth Water & Gas from 1970 until 2006. Jack attended First Lutheran Church.
Jack coached youth basketball, soccer and softball. He played for many years in various softball and pool leagues. Jack’s greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his wife, daughters and grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Schubitzke and his father, William Frestedt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jeannie; daughters, Jodi (Bill) Lorenze of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Jill Frestedt of Duluth; four grandchildren, Hanna Frestedt, Jackson, Baileigh and Emilee Lorenze; step-father and best friend Bernie Schubitzke; his sister, Claudia (Bob) Hauser of Virginia and brother Rick Frestedt of Superior; nieces and nephews, Becki, Valery and Mike; and many extended family members.
GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service Monday, Feb. 10, in Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, 624-5200.
