Kathleen Edith (Beckman) Mowers, 78, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 in Villa Vista Care Center in Cromwell.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1935 in Cromwell, the only child of Onni and Julia Beckman.
Kathleen was the third generation raised on the family farm on Eagle Lake and graduated from Cromwell High School. She married Ray in 1953 and became on army wife on the west coast. Thanks to Ray's service, she was eligible to be a pioneer patient of open heart surgery that gave us an additional 60 years of our generous, loving wife and mother. She was a passionate gardener, quiet listener and a tireless hostess. She will be missed by many.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Raymond; children, Debra (Forrest) Brown, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Mowers, Michael (Kimberly) Mowers; grandchildren, Kathleen and Forrest Brown, Jesse and Betsy Mowers and Holly (Kyle) Ricke and Chelsey Hoffbeck; and great grandchildren Trey and Tristan Mowers.
VISITATION: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 in Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall. To sign the guestbook and offer an online tribute see, www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com.
