Rose K. Borland, 92, of Duluth, died Thursday Jan. 9, 2014, in St. Eligius Health Center.
She was born in Duluth on Sept. 23, 1921, to Frank and Johanna Gimpel. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Church, Slovenian Women's Union Branch No. 33, Gary New Duluth Senior Citizen's, and the KSKJ Lodge.
Rose married Harold Borland in Duluth on Oct. 5, 1940. She had worked as a pharmacy clerk at the Gary Drug Store and Rutter Pharmacy until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; son Raymond; infant son; brothers Rudolph and Vincent; and sisters Josephine Yurisich, and Joanne Schull.
She is survived by Larry and Pat Thorson and their boys; Mike and Tillie Skorich and family; and many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Monday in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery.
